What is Osteopathic Manual Therapy?
Osteopathy is a way of detecting, treating and preventing health problems by moving, stretching and manipulating muscles and joints. Osteopathic Manual Therapy is a form of drug-free, non-invasive manual therapy that focuses on total body health. It treats and strengthens the musculoskeletal framework. The therapists aim is to positively affect the body’s nervous, circulatory, and lymphatic systems.
The core philosophy of osteopathy revolves around the body's interconnectedness. The premise is that when your muscles, bones, ligaments, and connective tissues work together seamlessly, you experience optimal well-being. Even your mental and social well-being are considered during diagnosis. Osteopaths utilize a holistic approach, focusing on the body's natural ability to heal itself.
